Up for sale is this copy of Music Matters reissue of Blue Note Sonny Rollins Newk's Time, double 45RPM audiophile quality LP.
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: I am auctioning this off from my personal collection because of an error I made.
I purchased this record NEW from Music Matters a few years ago, and the second disc had a slight bump at the beginning that would make the stylus jump (the middle of the record was fine, though).
So, I requested a replacement and was sent a second copy of Disc 2 directly from MM, and they requested I send the defective copy back to them.
Well, I did that a while back, and just this week I went to play the record for the first time since then and discovered I have two copies of Disc 2 (!!)
Unfortunately, I accidentally sent them back the (perfectly fine) Disc 1, and now I have a Mint copy of Disc 2, as well as a partially defective one.
So please be aware this is NOT a complete set, but maybe if you especially like the tracks on Disc 2, or just want the cover, or need a replacement Disc 2, etc. then you would be interested in acquiring this rare discontinued record for a low price.
The jacket is very close to NM but conservatively I will grade it VG+ since it does have some very faint wear and scratches (only visible under bright light) from handling/storage. It's still extremely crisp though and basically looks perfect.
The mint copy of Disc 2 has been played perhaps once or twice after I got it, so that is a strong NM.
The defective copy of Disc 2 I would have to grade as Fair since it does skip at the beginning of the record due to the manufacturing defect.
