----- ORIGINAL PRESSING MARKERS ----- - Blue Note Records 767 Lexington Ave NYC labels, both sides - No INC, no R on labels or jacket - Deep groove both sides (verified by touch) - RVG hand-etched in deadwax, both sides - Plastylite ear (P) in deadwax, both sides - Hand-etched matrix: BN-LP-1542-A / BN-LP-1542-B - Flat edge vinyl - Back cover: 47 West 63rd St., New York 23 (correct for the   first pressing - jackets were printed after Blue Note's   address move, labels before) - Framed front cover with upright Rollins portrait (first   cover design), blank spine
----- THE MUSIC ----- Rollins' Blue Note leader debut, recorded December 1956 with Donald Byrd (trumpet), Wynton Kelly (piano), Gene Ramey (bass), and Max Roach (drums). Four Rollins originals plus the ballad How Are Things in Glocca Morra. Rudy Van Gelder recording.
----- CONDITION ----- VINYL: VG+ (PLAY GRADED). Play-tested in full. No skips, no repeating clicks, no loud pops anywhere on the album. Side 2 plays exceptionally clean. Side 1 has occasional light ticks, mostly in Decision with a patch of light ticking around the 4:00-4:40 mark - never obscuring the music. Low surface noise throughout for a 1957 mono pressing. Surfaces retain strong gloss; light hairlines visible under raking light, nothing felt with a fingernail. Audio clips available on request.
JACKET: VG-. Wear disclosed in full: bottom left front corner has a chip with exposed cardboard, and there is paper loss along the opening edge and top and bottom edges. Front panel colors remain bold and glossy with strong presentation. Back panel is clean and bright with light age spotting. Blank spine intact, seams intact.
