Description
We are thrilled and honoured to be offering for sale a number of items from the late Stan Tracey's own personal collection on behalf of his son Clark Tracey. This includes many extremely rare albums, some purchased by Stan during his time in New York, plus test pressings and other gems collected over his lifetime as a musician and composer.
A rare 1959 UK 1st Press Mono copy of Sonny Rollins and the Contemporary Leaders, LAE 12213, released on the yellow Contemporary Vogue label.
Degritter cleaned, the vinyl has come up with a good glossy sheen and a few barely visible scuffs and marks. Clean labels and spindle holes - graded VG+.
Playback reveals a typically warm and clear Vogue sound and a surprisingly low noise floor. No jumping or sticking - the vinyl behaves as it should.
The laminate front sleeve has damage/torn area near the lower seam LH corner. A small patch of laminate lift/peel near the opening. Spine worn in parts but still mostly legible.
The original heavyweight Emitex inner sleeve is still present, slightly discoloured, but still doing a good job some 65 years on!
