Description
We are thrilled and honoured to be offering for sale a number of items from the late Stan Tracey's own personal collection on behalf of his son Clark Tracey. This includes many extremely rare albums, some purchased by Stan during his time in New York, plus test pressings and other gems collected over his lifetime as a musician and composer.
A very rare original 1959 UK Mono 1st pressing of Sonny Stitt - Only The Blues released on the red His Master's Voice " Nipper" label CLP 1280.
Degritter cleaned, the vinyl is glossy black with a good lustrous sheen and visible scuffs and hairlines to both sides. Clean labels & spindle holes - graded VG.
Playback reveals a warm & vibrant mono sound. The record plays well with some low background noise but no jumping or sticking.
The outer flipback laminate sleeve is solid with only a tiny area of laminate peel to the top seam, corner rubbing, plus discolouration. Lovely readable spine. No writing, splits, tears or tape repairs. VG+.
The original heavyweight Emitex inner sleeve is present & is still doing a good job.
The record will be sent separated out in an archival outer sleeve to prevent transit splits.
