Grading and Packing
I grade conservatively and play-grade whenever possible. I rarely use NM or M without an explanation, and I do my best to describe each record’s condition accurately.
All records are shipped in proper record shipping boxes. I replace all plain paper sleeves with lined paper or rice paper inner sleeves (original sleeves, when present are always kept in jacket). I ship all single and double LPs in a new poly outer sleeve. I clean most LPs with a Nitty Gritty machine before play grading, except when the vinyl appears to be near mint or a cleaning appears otherwise unnecessary.
Shipping: US Buyers
For US buyers, I ship USPS Media Mail at flat rates of $4.00 for single LPs and $5 for doubles and some boxes. Heavier pieces will be shipped at actual cost, billed to buyer with the final invoice. The flat rate serves to cover the new inner and outer sleeves I provide with most records, and the new record boxes and liners I use. I will combine shipping at actual cost, again using Media Mail. You can always let me know if you'd like another shipping method and I will accommodate, at actual cost. I include delivery confirmation (and insurance if deemed necessary) in the flat fee.
Shipping: Non US Buyers
For non-US buyers, shipping is at actual cost using USPS First Class International. I will add the registered mail option for tracking purposes to some countries (including Italy, Russia, Turkey, Greece, and others). You may ask for any other form of shipment at your cost, but if you choose to skip the registered mail option you assume the risks of shipping. International buyers: please do not pay until I send you the invoice with actual charges. The eBay estimated shipping will be wrong.
I usually do not pack a record until the end of each auction and will not know the final weight or cost until after each auction. On request I will provide shipping estimates but these should not be considered final.
I normally do not take returns, but the buyer should be in touch with me if upon receipt s/he feels that something has been seriously misrepresented. I'm a pretty reasonable guy.
