CONDITION POSSIBLE.

INSERT: 2 Foil Post Cards - Sorhin postcard has damage at the bottom corner...this is the way it arrived in the mail. 

THIS RARE 7" WOULD MAKE A NICE ADDITION TO SOMEONE'S COLLECTION. UNFORTUNATELY I AM GETTING

OLD AND RUNNING OUT OF SPACE. I MUST MAKE ROOM FOR FUTURE FAMILY ADDITIONS.

Seeing as no one has reviewed this yet, I will do my best to do it justice. Let me first off state that Puissance is my favourite project in the martial music field and Sorhin will always remain one of the best Swedish black/death bands, second only to Dissection. With that said, a split between the two is a god(s)send for me.

First we need to discuss the packaging and layout. Having never been disappointed by either band or the label, Svartvintras Productions, I have to say this did not fail to impress. The cover is a gatefold, black/black lacquered outside with gold embossed inside. It is hand-numbered to 500. There is not an insert, but instead each band was given a postcard, gold embossed with their logos. The backside of each card looks like a typical postcard but with the Svartvintras logo in the top corner. Everything about this just shows the professionalism you will expect with the music itself.

Side A is Sorhin's beginning of this and they shine some black light on this split quite stunningly with "To Give Death." This track begins with an upbeat guitar and drum intro that gives way to some old style thrash riffing and scathing vocals ala Nattfursh. Blast beat drums come in and melodic riffing, retaining that classic Swedish black/death feel. As the chorus begins, the drums slow a bit and the riffing gets furious and chaotic. It stays this way throughout the remainder of the track and proves Sorhin is definitely an unholy force in the Swedish BM underground.

Side B is Puissance with the track, " To Give Death by the Sword of Christ." This starts out with cellos and a martial drum track which gives way to keys and horns and has a baroque feel. This track is more neo-classical than straight martial but still has that trademark Puissance feel. Definitely a more mellow than somber feeling piece, but martial and with a totalitarian feel nonetheless.

This split sold out rather quickly from the label and since it is now non operational, your chances of finding this unholy slab of wax are slim to none. Regardless, I say kill if you have to, but obtain this piece of black art and give praise to darkness.
