Description


Cal Green, two-sided, 8-inch studio acetate.  This came out of the old ACA studio in Houston and probably is from the late 60s.  One side is excellent hard soul, the other is bluesy R&B.  I've included clips of both.  There are no labels, just a piece of masking tape on the bluesy side that says, "Cl. G. Put Bk. Payment Pls." which is (more or less) from the song's lyrics.  Record looks scruffy, G+ to VG-  with a lot of light surface marks and scuffs.  There's also a slight crease in the underlying metal plate that does not affect play, and the songs play loud and clear all the way through on both sides.  There is some light lacquer chipping right at the outer edge of the disk, but the surface is in excellent shape, with no cracks, stress marks, or flaking.  The styles Green explores on this record are different from those on his released material, but the songs are first class all the way, as you'd expect.
