Description
An LP not to be missed. If the cover isn't enough to seal the deal, the huge monster drum breaks plastered on this platter should make it case closed. For the most part this album is a compilation of soul and funk songs for club play during the 70's including classics such as "Tighten Up", "The Ghetto", & "It's All Right Now". However, the killer cut for the album is called "Ju Ju Man" (supposedly penned by Klaus Doldinger) and the instrumentation is just nasty. Played by the Hot Stuff Band (including Wilson Das Neves and Mamao) this tune is a mid 70's funk stormer with a gangster open drum break at the beginning and an even hotter one in the middle. Incredible afro-funk sound with scratch guitar, gutter bass, and funked-out synth. A must for both dj's and beatheads trying to stay ahead of the game; do the do on a grail-to-be!
