Description
This sale is for an 1958 pressing of Soultrane by John Coltrane with the red garland Trio, on the Esquire label (32-089). The record is well used and has numerous light surface marks, mainly hairlines but a couple of deeper looking marks on side one. Visually I would grade as 'VG', the record has been well pressed so the playback seems unaffected by the surface wear. The playback is very good with no heavy distortions or faults (no pops, skips or jumps) even in the quieter portions. I think I heard the occasional second of crackle between cues but the tracks themselves sound great. The crème coloured labels show some light patches of discolouration but otherwise look ok.
The Sleeve for this disc is designed by the Artist (& Hunter S. Thompson cohort) Ralph Steadman. The Sleeve is 'Fair' as it is noticeably worn, the laminate is peeling away in a few places, the top left hand corner is creased and there are a few tears to the opening edge. There is a 2" seam split to the spine edge, on the rear there is some light ring wear and a name written in pen to the top.
Apologies I do not have a buy it now price nor to I wish to end the auction early, Thanks for looking at my item.
