Up for auction is a copy of the mega rare Soundgarden release on the Sub Pop label from 1988. This was Soundgarden's first single and was only ever pressed on blue vinyl and limited to 500 copies with no picture sleeve. Not only was this Soundgarden's first ever release but also the first ever 7" issued by Sub Pop. All 500 copies were issued in a plain blue paper sleeve to match the colour of the vinyl. I have owned this record for many years and have never played it. The vinyl itself is mint. Recently there have been people selling fake copies and passing them off as originals but there is an easy way to spot the difference. Firstly, the 'Soundgarden' lettering on the record label spills over the edge and is cut off on bootleg copies. Secondly, the quality and colour of the vinyl is markedly different; fakes are pressed on a much lighter blue wax. Thirdly, no attempt was made to reproduce the original blue paper sleeve to house these fakes in, so they are sold in plain white sleeves. Mine is a genuine copy.
