ZACKS & HIS SEXTET  Jack-Pot/A.B.C.  HMV JP 602  E+  There are many of us who believe that Dollar Brand 'borrowed' the first melodic phrase of 'Jack-Pot' to create the principle melody of 'Mannenberg'. That included Zacks Nkosi himself who tried to sue Dollar for copyright infringement.  According to Zacks' son, Jabu, the case failed because Zacks was unable to locate a copy of JP 602 to offer up as proof of his claim of authorship ( this was some 13 or so years after JP 602 was released and long after it had disappeared from general circulation. The master tape had also burnt up in the 1973 EMI fire.)    PLEASE READ: All parcels will be sent via the SA Post Office.  The shipping cost depends on the country of destination, the weight of the package and the current exchange rate between the US Dollar and the South African Rand.  Contact me via eBay if you would like a shipping cost estimation.  Please don't send money until I have invoiced you for the correct shipping cost.  Incidentally, the SA Post Office still offers the option of shipping parcels via surface (sea) mail.  Of course, it takes much longer than airmail (up to 12 weeks to the US) but the cost is about 75% less.
