Tinted with a Latin-American hue, the melodies are presented in a constantly varying sound spectrum which combines the melodic with the experimental. Thundering wind and drum passages, pithy big-band sets, and excursions into an intoxicating symphonic sound world are just as much a part of Mangione's musical language as are the contemplative solo pieces for cello and flugelhorn. The outstanding sound quality is beyond question; indeed, this recording was prestigiously named the Best Audiophile Disc in the 1970s.

Reviewer: Ivan I can not believe I am the first person to review this album. Although I had seen the classic cover for so many times, I had never actually listened to it. I recently enjoyed the album in a superb analogue system backed up with 1st class tubed electronics and obviously, I fell in love with it. This is one of the most impressive albums either in sonics and music content. In vinyl it sounds just so full and the music is so direct and beautiful.
Please listen to it in pure analogue and you will be hooked forever.
