Description
Here we have an ORIGINAL copy of Spectrum’s “Geracao Bendita” album on the Brazilian Todamerica label from 1971. This was featured in Hans Pokora’s 2001 Record Collector Dreams book (where it was rated six stars out of six for rarity) and was reissued on Shadoks Records years ago. The album (actually a film soundtrack -- would love to get a look at this movie!) is EASILY one of the Top 10 psych LPs from South America.
As you can see from the photos, the sleeve is VG. In addition to general wear, the original owner seems to have (neatly) added some 5 o’clock shadow to the drawing on the front; there’s also a small doodle (named “Osmond”) on the back, X’s next to some song titles, a 1” by 2” stamp affixed to the lower left corner, and some wear/flaking to the top/bottom/left/right edges.
The disc surface is very clean, but there is a SIGNIFICANT FLAW – a radial crack in the vinyl that extends from the label to the edge. Were it not for the crack, it would grade Ex. The guy I bought it from assured me that you can’t hear it at all, but that’s not quite true – there’s a VERY light tick at points during some of the quiet parts in the music. But you’ve gotta strain REALLY hard to hear it!

All in all, a very acceptable original copy of a great record that’s near-impossible to locate, and at a fraction of the “going rate”…
