For sale is this super cool 12" EP of 'How you satisfy me' by Spectrum on transparent Vinyl, released on the Silvertone label, ORE T 41 in 1992 The Vinyl is Mint-, no scratches (and you have to look hard!) The PVC outer sleeve is also Mint-
Spectrum's formal debut was a candy-colored monster, thanks to Sonic whipping up one of his best pop tunes ever with the help of bandmate Richard Formby. "How You Satisfy Me" simply storms with all the frazzled psych power one could ask for, combined with a perfectly hooky, downright summery feeling of love, for all that Sonic delivers the lyric with sneering intensity at points. With more reverb and echo than imaginable and a brilliant, instantly memorable fuzz-organ melody, it's the equal and then some of many of his Spacemen 3 highlights. The single is filled out by two instrumental versions of "Don't Go," along with the out-and-out rarity "My Life Spins Round Your Every Smile." Also an instrumental, it has a sweetly mournful tone to go with the sentiments of its title, playing up Sonic's increasing tendency to work with open-ended drones but combined with lovely, understated guitar and an attractive rhythm burst on what sounds like keyboards. Spectrum was the most high-profile and straightforward of the projects undertaken by Pete "Sonic Boom" Kember after the demise of the trance-rock avatars Spacemen 3. After the breakup of Spacemen 3, Sonic formed Spectrum with guitarist Richard Formby and bassist Mike Stout, along with contributions from Pat Fish (aka the Jazz Butcher). I grade very strictly by the Record Collector system. I do not sell records that are less than VG+. I am also a collector and know that there is nothing worse than a poorly graded record.
Record Collector Magazine's Grading Guide:
"MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
