Description
Up for auction is my much-loved copy of the incredibly rare third album from Spirogyra; 'Bells,Boots And Shambles'. This is the ORIGINAL UK POLYDOR VINYL LP from 1973, that I have owned and played for over 40 years.
The notoriously fragile SLEEVE fell apart some years ago and has been repaired with tape (see photos), but remains in overall good condition,with wear to top,bottom and opening edges and scuffing on the top and bottom of the opening edges. There are a few light creases on the album cover, commensurate with an album that has been played (albeit lovingly) for four decades, but nothing that jumps out - no tears, folds or cuts. The spine is worn, but still solid, and legible. The original owner's name is written inside the front opening edge of the sleeve (see photo - legacy of being at boarding school, and not wanting it to go "walkies"!). I will grade the sleeve as GOOD. The INNER SLEEVE is original, and intact, with some wear to the opening edges, and some creasing at the bottom edge from being put into the sleeve. Again, the original owner's name is written on the edge of the inner sleeve. I will grade the inner sleeve as VERY GOOD. The LABELS are clean and clear and I will grade as EXCELLENT+. Visually, the VINYL superb, with just some small lines on the dead wax.
The album plays through absolutely fine with no jumps or skips. There is some light background crackle throughout the album. It is a joy to listen to. It is however, over 40 years old, so I will grade the vinyl as VERY GOOD+.
The MATRIX numbers are 2310246 A//4 8 1 1,with PORKY scratched on the dead wax and 2310246 B//3 11 3 with LET THE BRAIN TAKE THE STRAIN scratched on the dead wax.
