Spontaneous Music Ensemble UK FREE IMPROV JAZZ
Marmalade 608 008 <> July 1969 first issue
John Stevens Spontaneous Music Ensemble – Self-titled LP (orig. UK STEREO Marmalade 608 008—1969, first issue)
Recorded: 7 February 1969 ~ release date: July 1969. Running time: 35:30 (approx).
On offer here is a VERY RARE original British first issue of the SPONTANEOUS MUSIC ENSEMBLE's third album, which was issued on the MARMALADE label. The jazz is densely constructed and even has a psychedelic tinge at times. Sort of reminds me of an Italian horror movie soundtrack from the late 1960s (eg. Dario Argento “Bird with the Crystal Plummage”). Recommended for the more adventurous jazz music fan.
