ARTIST: St. Louis Jimmy
LABEL: Prestige Bluesville – BV 1028 (1961)
TITLE: Goin' Down Slow
CONDITION:
SLEEVE: VG due to seam splits. However the front cover has clean graphics w/ bright lamination. The back cover has some light general wear, a name stamp and a small number. So the problems are a 3 1/2" middle of spine split (although graphics are visible), a 3" split in the middle of the top seam, a 3 1/2" split in the middle of the bottom seam and a 1 1/4" split bottom right.
RECORD: Retains decent gloss w/ some light surface scuffs, mostly on Side A. Side A also has a small scratch at the beginning of the side that causes some light ticks and the rest of the side plays VG+ w/ some light background surface noise and light random background ticks but still retains great sound presence. The B side plays a better VG++ w/ just a touch of very light background surface noise. VPI cleaned
COMMENTS: Original deep groove copy of this rare 1961 Prestige Bluesville LP recorded by Rudy Van Gelder
NOTE: VPI cleaned means that this record was cleaned on a professional $500 cleaning machine, which does wonders for the playback of all vinyl records!
