Description
Stan Getz (with Bob Brookmeyer, Bill Anthony, Art Mardigan) AT THE SHRINE Norgran MGN 2000-2, recorded 1954. Autographed “To Ray” (respective inscriptions) by Stan Getz, Shelly Manne, Shorty Rogers. 2-LP deluxe box. with original spiral-bound folio. Folio “A Pictorial review of Stan Getz, by Phil Stern” has one page detached; otherwise in NM condition—some yellowing, as predictable. Package also includes small folded insert, “Needle tips: Important information about phonograph needles and their relation to enjoyment of your records.” Box has lived through a lot: 3 corners are separated, and one rim wall has broken, another has a 3-inch section detached. DSM cover is signed by Getz, and he signed it in one other place in the booklet as well. Top cover of box—remarkably—still has one edge intact, and it’s the spine edge. Other 3 are gone entirely. small black trumpeter on yellow field; Norgran labels. both discs play VG+: not palyed much, but they’ve lived in a gritty environment. cleaning would be a help. Here’s the eighth of about 50 batches of records from a fastidious NY-area collector with excellent taste. One owner since release in most cases. Very many of these were played either very little or very carefully. They’ve been carefully play-graded as well. Low starts, as you can see, and almost no reserves. Bid with confidence.
