Stan Getz Eddie Sauter ORIG UK LP Focus EX ’61 DG Verve V8412 GF MONO Jazz
Original US LP released in 1961 on the Deep Groove Black & Silver Verve Records Label. Cat: V8412. This album is in MONO. Comes in thick gloss gatefold sleeve. Matrix numbers: V8412-A 61-VG-152/ V8412-B 61-VG-153. Sounds stunning!!Over the next few weeks I will be listing some wonderful Jazz titles from a recently acquired Jazz collection. The original owner passed away back in 1985 and his sister decided to hold onto them for sentimental reasons. She had not touched or played them since then (1985!!). The records are in stunning condition for their age many, apart from a few light age spots on the covers, look like they walked off the shelf yesterday. I hope you enjoy viewing and possibly purchasing these wonderful jazz vinyl artifacts as much as i have in preparing them for sale and listening to them!!
A year or two shy of his bossa nova success, Stan Getz set his mind to improvising against a backdrop of darkish yet scintillating string charts. The orchestral muscle was provided by arranger Eddie Sauter; the heady and fluid horn lines, of course, came from Getz. The jazz star might have been all airy samba fog to some, but on this classic date he really showed his expansive horn talents: whether leaping and yelping on such galvanizing sides as "I'm Late, I'm Late" or ingeniously responding to the many shades heard in a grand ballad like "I Remember When," Getz is never short on ideas or panache. Admittedly Getz's most challenging date and arguably his finest moment, Focus roams the vast jazz landscape outside of bop and boogaloo to fabulous and memorable effect.
There are a few light spindle marks on labels. Record a few light scuff marks that cause a few light crackles and is in Excellent condition. Thick Gloss cover gatefold cover has light age spots on inside of gatefold and scuffing on bottom corner of spine and is in Excellent condition.

Wrapping method: All records are sent in stiff cardboard mailers then wrapped in brown paper and sealed around edges with brown packaging tape. Records are taken out of sleeve to avoid seam splits and ring wear.
Post methods within Australia: All records are posted via Australia Post. Within Australia all items come with a tracking number.
Post method for overseas: All parcels are sent via Australia Post and are sent on a standard airmail service. There are no tracking numbers on these items. If you require a tracking number the item will have to be sent as an insured item which incurs a further postage fee.
