   For sale is Stanley Clarke's self titled first album, originally released in 1974 by Nemperor Records. In the dead wax between the label and the last track are the matrix numbers 1-C/1-C. This signifies that it was an early stamper used for this first pressing. This is a hallmark of excellent sound quality. I bought this new and played it carefully on a reference quality turntable and cartridge. One of the first things I do with a new purchase is that I immediately put the album into a protective inner sleeve like a MFSL or its equivalent.  There is no original inner sleeve with this listing. The cover is graded VG+ because of ring wear, a crease along the corner, some minor corner blunts and stress cracks around the spine, resulting in some color loss. The spine is Excellent with an 1/4" spot of color loss in the middle and some more because of stress cracks and those corner blunts. The vinyl is Near Mint. This is still the best copy of this album that I have ever seen or heard. You would be hard pressed to find another one in this condition. I have more jazz albums, as well as records of all genres in my Ebay store. Please take a look, as they're all in Near Mint condition. Over the years I've used Dust Bugs, Disc Washers and have finally invested in a professional VPI record cleaning machine. Now that I'm retiring, I'm selling my very esoteric collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative.
