This 10" 78rpm Albion record (number 1019) features Mr Stanley Kirkby. Albion records were produced between 1911 and 1914 using catalogue numbers from 1001 to 1449 initially being manufactured in Germany.  As this record does not state 'manufactured in England' and has a low number of 1019 we think it is an early example. As usual for these antique records there is surface noise for the first quarter of an inch. Titles as follows. Side B - You Wish Me to Forget You - this is the better of the two sides; the surface noise does not affect the quality of Stanley Kirkby's baritone voice.
Side A - Meet Me Tonight in Dreamland - apart from surface noise there is a curved scratch which produces a noticeable click for three quarters of an inch halfway through the recording (photo 4). There is also a small chip which does not encroach on the playing surface (photo 5) For a record of over 100 years old the recording is remarkably good.
