Star Wars Movie Soundtrack Double Album with Film Poster and Detailed Description Sheet .. all originals from 1977 with Records in Fine Condition. ………………………………………………………. Offered is a Star Wars - Double Vinyl Record Album of the Film’s Soundtrack with the Insert Description Sheet and a movie Poster that were all included in this set dated 1977 and marked 20th Century Records made in Canada. …………………………….. The records are in Fine Condition and were Rarely Played. They have been well kept and tested. The Poster has only been unfolded twice in the last 40 years one at purchase and once for these listing photos. Both the Album cover and Poster are numbered ( # 2209-541 ). ………………………. This double album is the second of three which hung in a display case at the record store in 1977. It has a small manufactured hole ( top left hand corner ) in the cardboard cover for hanging in the display case. This hole never effected any of the contents. The Album Cover has light wear from handling over the years and is NOT faded. The heavy plastic transparent protective cover which was original to this album is also included.…………………… The POSTER when opened measures approximately (33” by 22”) and (11” by 11”) when folded. Except for the manufacturers folding lines and slight color age tint on the white of the poster back along the folds it is in Very Good to Fine shape. ………………………………………...... Star Wars (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) is the soundtrack album to the 1977 film Star Wars, composed and conducted by John Williams and performed by the London Symphony Orchestra. Williams' score for Star Wars was recorded over eight sessions at Anvil Studios in Denham, England on March 5, 8–12, 15 and 16, 1977. This score was orchestrated by Williams's frequent associate Herbert W. Spencer, who also later orchestrated the scores for The Empire Strikes Back as well as Return of the Jedi. The score was recorded by engineer Eric Tomlinson and edited by Kenneth Wannberg, and the scoring sessions were produced by Star Wars director George Lucas and supervised by Lionel Newman, head of 20th Century Fox's music department. The soundtrack album was released by 20th Century Records as a double - LP record in the United States & Canada in June 1977. The album's main title peaked at No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, with a disco version of the film's theme by Mecobecoming a number one single hit in the United States in October 1977.
