Description

I bought this new in 1980 when the Empire Strikes Back first came out in movie theatres. I played it quite often in those days, especially Side 2. I test played all of Side 2 as well as the first track on Side 3 just prior to making this listing. Light crackling and popping were audible throughout especially during quiet parts, but I did not hear any skips.

This album has been stored vertically in a stereo cabinet out of direct sunlight, in climate-controlled, smoke-free homes since purchase.

Record Grading: (VG+)

All four record surfaces are bright and glossy. Sides 2 and 4 have some filmy areas that were not removed by wet cleaning. Sides 2, 3, and 4 each have a few light scratches. The labels look new except side 4, which has a few small spots.

Sides 1 and 2 are on Disc 1.
Sides 3 and 4 are on Disc 2.

Outer Sleeve Grading: (G)

Fully intact and legible double gatefold with clean and glossy surface and minor corner and edge wear. Both sides are moderately scratched and scuffed, especially along the ring made by the records. There is yellowing and some spots along the inside edges of the openings. Spine is legible except for part of the catalog number.

Inner Sleeve Grading: (G)

Original plain paper inner sleeves. Slightly yellowed and wrinkled; both are intact except for one corner of one side cut out of each.

Insert: (EX)

12-page full-color 11.5" x 11" booklet with pictures and descriptions of the characters and scenes from the movie, interview with John Williams, and list of London Symphony Orchestra musicians and their instruments.

Records were wet-cleaned, dried, and come packaged in new polyethylene sleeves; original inner sleeves included. Ships via USPS Media Mail, securely packed in a record mailer.
