This auction is for a custom Startflyer 59 - Leave Here A Stranger (Test Pressing) Vinyl LP Jacket. The jacket is a matte black with silver screen printing. A very cool and one of a kind jacket. Included with the jacket (free, you are not bidding on lathe cut vinyl, they are included with the jacket) The lathe and other artwork are being given to the buyer at no cost (FREE) as a collectors item for fans of the band.

I had these 2 Lathe Cut Records made and cut by a professional company whom I have used many times but there is something not right with the audio on these. The timing is cut correctly, the grooves are cut clean as it plays through perfectly from start to finish, both discs are super clean, perfect looking but the sound that comes out is very muddy, it will go from quiet (you can hardly hear it) to where you can hear it perfectly. I have cleaned these several times and I will say, with each cleaning and play, the audio gets better sounding and more consistent which leads me to believe that maybe these were not properly cleaned during the cutting process and there is debris inside the cut grooves and the stylus pulls it out with each play. There are songs that are highly distorted and then there are are some songs that play fine and sound great.

Please note, this changes every time you play it and I have had times where songs have played perfect so this leaves me clueless.... Maybe someone who knows more about Lathe can figure this out or if you like the idea of having this as a collectors item ( its one of a kind ) then this is for you.

I selected the audio, artwork etc. The custom Jacket to Leave Here A Stranger is amazing looking and I paid $35 just for it alone. Absolutely stunning. The first lathe ( Leave Here A Stranger ) is 90% of the album, as I had to move songs around to fit as much audio as possible.

She's The Queen / Le Vainqueur - This is a split side EP which includes the final few songs from Leave Here A Stranger then She’s The Queen begins. The lathe is 90% of this album, as I had to move songs around to fit as much audio as possible placing a few songs from She’s The Queen on side 2 then ending with 3 songs from the Le Vainqueur EP. Artwork and center label match to where you can flip the cover over to see each album.

What is a Lathe?Lathe cut records are made from clear plastic and are cut individually each time.They are made by using a record lathe to cut grooves in the discs. These lathes are commonly used in the vinyl manufacturing process to cut the lacquer master discs used to make metal stamps.

* Your album (if not sealed) may be packed in order to prevent any damage such as placing Obi strips inside the jacket to keep it from tearing and the vinyl placed inside its sleeve but behind the jacket to prevent seam splits. Items listed as new means they have never been played, the only handling of the item was during opening, inspecting, photos taken.

* Any item labeled used is in VG+ condition, has been played and tested to validate no serious defects or play issues unless stated at the top.

* I take a lot of pride in my collection, my feedback and in the packing of items to ensure buyer is satisfied. I’ve been buying, collecting and selling for over 20+ years with 100% positive feedback. I am a private collector selling from my personal collection that consists of over 2000 vinyl. All Vinyl is properly stored in professional cabinets, upright, indoors and cleaned regularly. Buy with peace of mind. All items listed are in as stated condition.
