On 2008's STATE OF GRACE, former Dropkick Murphys frontman (and Boston firefighter) Mike McColgan stays true to the sound he developed with his earlier band, offering up passionate punk-inspired tunes that occasionally call on a Celtic influence. Standout tracks on this Street Dogs set include the furious "Mean Fist," the reverent "Kevin J. O'Toole," and the lilting, Pogues-like "Elizabeth." --Muze"All acoustic guitar and wailing harmonica, 'Free' closes the album with a shot of folk.
