Description
This is part of a large auction of blues, doo-wop, jazz & R&B 10" 78's from the late 1940's into the 50's. There are a handful of unusual small labels represented here as well as some promos and several early recordings by performers who would go on to be big stars.

Format: 78 rpm 10" shallac record
Year: 1953
Notes: White label promo first pressing. The third of just three records released by this group and seems to be the most rare. The group recorded four tracks in Chicago in November 1953, these two and two that were never released. Features jazzy R&B instrumentation with a bit of vocal group work, Jewell Belle is not featured even though she's noted on the label.
Record Condition: E+, The record itself is in really nice shape & plays very well, doesn't seem to have been played much at all. There are just a couple of very small/very fine marks. Sound is clean and clear, no skips, ticks, etc. Labels are also very clean with no writing/tears/scuffs, but they do have a sticker from WWRL, the prominent NYC radio station on one side. This is a really nice copy overall.
All records I sell have been personally cleaned and play tested. I am an experienced grader and use the VJM grading system, but please see pictures as so much of this is subjective. These will be shipped in sleeves in a cardboard sandwich in an oversize box for maximum protection.
