Status Quo - Dog Of Two Heads LP gatefold 1971 Pye UK 1st Press
Rare UK 1st press on Pye - normal black vinyl TRANSLUCENT RED when held up to strong light!
Both sides play at least EXCELLENT
CAT NO: NSPL 18371
PRESSING DETAILS: PYE UK 1st Press (A-2 & B-1) stamped.
SLEEVE: (VG) Original non laminated UK 1st press gatefold sleeve has light wear from use and storage. Some fading and lots of edge scuffing. Inside is much cleaner with less wear. Spine has mild edge scuffing but all the text is clearly readable with heavy scuffing to the bottom corner.
INNER SLEEVE: (VG) Original polylined paper inner is discoloured from age. No side splits and no writing. Light wear and creasing from storage.
RECORD LABELS: (EX) Both sides are very clean with only a few spindle marks to both sides when angled under bright light. No writing and no stickers.
VINYL CONDITION VISUALLY: (VG+) Vinyl is flat and glossy and when angled under bright light there are a few light hairlines and lots of light paper scuffs to both sides. This is the earliest UK press - when you hold the vinyl up to strong light it is translucent red! This is something you only find on UK 1st pressings of this LP.
Strict grading using Record Collector grading system. All records are play tested on a Technics SL-1210 MK2 record player with a Shure White Label Cartridge and Stylus. All records are sent in correct record mailers or cruciform box with at least 4 cardboard stiffeners and the vinyl removed for the the original inner and put in a new polylined inner sleeve outside of the cover to make sure no splits happen during delivery. All vinyl is sent tracked and signed for.
RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING
All records are graded using the Record Collector Grading System with (+) or (-) to show a slightly higher or lower grade.
M (Mint) : The Record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.
EX (Excellent): The Record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VG (Very Good) : The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
G (Good) : The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
F (Fair) : The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
