Status Quo 'I (Who Have Nothing) / Neighbour neighbour'

  Status Quo

as

THE SPECTRES

This Auction is for their VERY FIRST single to be pressed when they were known as THE SPECTRES

Rossi, Parfitt*, Lancaster, Coghlan, Lynes

The Spectres formed in the early sixties playing their gigs at Sports Clubs & Working Mens Clubs. Originally they were minus a member who they later met at Butlins*. On the 18th July 1966 a contract was duly signed; a possible five year deal between the Spectres & Piccadilly, which shortly afterwards became part of the Pye Label.

I have on offer their 'VERY FIRST' pressed single, "I (Who have nothing)" which was released on the Piccadilly label in 1966; Catalogue number 7N 35339. The single wasn't a hit, nor were their following efforts. In March 1967 they changed their name to Traffic; then shortly afterwards to Traffic Jam. Not to confuse the band with Stevie Winwood's group Traffic, Pat Barlow suggested another name change...to The Status Quo. The 'The' being dropped after several years with Pye.

Whilst never being a hit, this record is now 'one of the most sought after records they ever produced'. It is extremely rare; aided by the fact of its popularity at the time. As can be seen by the photo's the labels are fully intact and free from writing, which at the time was a popular thing to do; writing your name on your records. The record itself has all the marks of a record of this age. Vinyls rarely stood the test of time from this era. I have played the record; listening to the infamous crackles & hiss which records always gave. It played all of the way through on the 'A' side & jumped slightly on the 'B' side. I doubt if you could ever find another copy of this record, I certainly haven't. I have never even seen one advertised on ebay. To actually own a copy is the biggest buzz a collector can have. To physically own a copy of Status Quo's very first single! It is worn & marked; but this does not detract from the fact that this is one hell of a collectors piece!!!!

I have set a very modest reserve on this record, one I think is very generous & very fair considering what you are getting. Search it out on the many Quo sites & you will see it's value; taking into account you probably will NEVER find another copy. Also, what it's valued at & what you as collector consider it's worth can greatly differ. I have always thought "what do I think it's worth" before bidding on items on ebay. Sometimes I may have bid more than what some people have thought the item is worth, but it's up to me to give it a value; what it is worth to me as a collector!

I will also accept offers as a 'Buy it Now' providing there are no bids made at the time. Any offer MUST exceed the reserve price; which in fairness will not be disclosed unless bidding exceeds the set figure.

I will provide as much information as feesibly possible upon request. I will be open & honest as I have always been; just check my 100% Feedback. Please ask ANY questions if you are unsure of anything. Want more pictures? Just ask!

You are bidding on a "VERY RARE & HIGHLY VALUED COLLECTABLE RECORD"!
