Description
This is Steve Hackett's (Genesis) 1983 solo album 'Bay of Kings' on Lamborghini Records and it's LMGLP 3000.
The album is hand-signed on the front cover by Steve Hackett - signing 'To John - All the best - Steve Hackett' - please see images.
The cover is in very good condition with only very minor marks for its age. The vinyl looks to be in very good condition with no visible marks or scratches. Looking at the label, I cans no spindle marks so I suspect it's been rarely played.
Also included are Press Releases dated 14/10/83 detailing the album and tour to promote it. A second sheet is a 'Fact Sheet' (a biog) about Steve Hackett (over two pages).
Please note that I am not a dealer or a record collector. The items I am selling are all from the extensive collection of my late brother, John Shaw.
He was a great music enthusiast, working for both BBC and commercial radio stations in the East Midlands from 1980 until 2013 presenting various music shows, mostly folk and rock.
During this period he interviewed many bands and artists in Nottingham, Derby and Leicester and usually had them sign copies of the albums they were promoting at the time. He was also sent many promotional, DJ-only and white-label pressings direct from the record companies.
I think he interviewed Steve Hackett as part of a promotional tour for this album - hence the PR sheets. At the time my brother was presenter / producer of the nightly rock programme 'Castle Rock' on Radio Trent in Nottingham. I see that Hackett played at Mansfield Leisure Centre (near Nottingham) on 13th November 1983, so I suspect that's when the interview and signing took place.
Sadly my brother passed away in November 2013, so I am slowly disposing of his extensive record collection.
