Steve Kaczorowski on UA records 20842 Stereo.
"What Time Are You?"  Cover is in VG+ to VG++ condition.
(overall looks very good. very solid with no seam splits, very little
fading on the art work, no ring wear, and very little shelf wear. 
There are somewhat minor bumps in the upper right hand corner
and the lower right hand corner. There is a scratch or scuff on the front
cover slightly under Steve's name near the opening.  The cover has
some creases in the art work. I believe the LP was made this way when
it was manufactured. The LP also has a message written on it and is
autographed by the artist)  The record is in VG / VG- condition.
(Side 1 / Side 2.  Overall the record has lots of its original gloss and luster,
but it has been mishandled a bit. Side 1 has a fair amount of light unfeel-able
surface marks for the most part, but a few are feel-able but just barely.
Side 2 looks basically similar but is somewhat worse and there are two bigger
and plainly feel-able scratches. (please see picture)  These marks are mostly
prevalent on song three. The record plays through this area fine with no skips or repeats,
and  it played through better than I expected. But obviously there are some pops and
clicks in the playback in this section.  Overall the entire record plays through fairly well
with some light surface noise and occasional pops but is very listenable)



This is an extremely rare record!!  There are only a few known copies in collector's hands
in the entire world.  Information is sketchy on it, and some say there are five known copies
and some sources say there are around ten or so.  Either way, this is an extremely rare one.
Past auctions of this record have sold very high in the $600 to $1,0000 plus range. Below is

The story behind the record is even stranger, and much has been written about it. To keep
it brief, Steve Kaczorowski was a total liar and an over all fraud. He lied about everything.
In the liner notes he claims that Robert Fripp, Nicky Hopkins, Don McLean, and Elliot Mazer
were part of the recording sessions. He also claimed that he wrote all of the material on the
album, except for the song "I'd Love To Change The World" which he claimed that he co-wrote
with Alvin Lee of Ten Years After. But many of the songs on the album were stolen from artists
and bands like Deep Purple, Orpheus, and The Left Banke. To make matters even worse, it
is also believed that he actually, and very cleverly, overdubbed his voice on top of these bands
recordings as well, essentially using the band's recordings as his backing tracks. In spots it appears
he also overdubbed instruments as well.  When he finally was confronted by a record collector many
years after the fact he spun even more and more elaborate tales claiming he actually was a member
of The Left Banke and sang the lead vocals on "Walk Away Renee" but was not credited for it.
Sadly, Mr. Kaczorowski passed away many years ago and the real details and truth will never be entirely
known, and this adds to the legend and the mystique.  Some have even given him credit with inventing
Karoke as well.  This is his first record and is by far his rarest one. As far as I know this is the only
LP that has his autograph too.  If you do a google search you will be able to find even more information
about this record and about Steve Kaczorowski as well.

GRADING OF RECORDS

MINT – record looks new and perfect looking. Not many records make this grade.
NEAR MINT – record is ‘like new” very clean with only possibly the most minor and superficial of marks.
VG++ record has only very minor surface marks and wear and is in excellent condition.
VG+ record shows some surface marks but the record is still in relatively good shape. no feel-able scratches
VG record shows a fair amount of wear. may have feel-able scratches
G record shows excessive wear.
