Description

Incus Records was established in 1970 by Derek Bailey, Tony Oxley and Evan Parker. Company  4 was recorded on November 11, 1976 at the inaugural Company Week Festival. It was released shortly thereafter  The festival featured  an ever-changing collection of like-minded improvisors, which at various times included Anthony Braxton, Tristan Honsinger, Misha Mengelberg, Lol Coxhill, Fred Frith, Steve Beresford, Steve Lacy, Johnny Dyani, Leo Smith, Han Bennink, Eugene Chadbourne, Henry Kaiser, John Zorn, Buckethead and many others. Company Week, the annual week-long free improvisational festival organized by Bailey, ran until 1994. This was the fourth release from the festival series.

This record is still sealed in shrink wrap having been imported to Canada by the legendary record shop, Black Swan Records.
