Description
Steve Lacy (with Buell Neidlinger, Mal Waldron, Elvin Jones) REFLECTIONS. New Jazz 8206, recorded 1958. Silver-on-purple original label. Deep Groove. Disc surface is very nicely clean, considered in light of age/use/and the Prestige Factor: E on A side; B side has an unfortunate spider-web-like pressing flaw that generates a cyclical mid-frequency crackle for B-1 and B-2; therefore VG on B side, though musical sound is excellently crisp and surface is quite free from play-wear. One pressing pop on side A sounds for 3 revolutions. Jacket is E+ with some general yellowing to white fields of reverse. Disc and jacket were drilled at label. Bergenfield address on jacket.
Here’s the eighteenth of about 30 batches of records from a fastidious NY-area collector with excellent taste. One owner since release in most cases. Very many of these were played either very little or very carefully. They’ve been carefully play-graded as well. Low starts, as you can see, and almost no reserves. Bid with confidence.
