THIS is part of a collection of promo vinyl that I'll be listing over the next few months. It comes from a prominent 1990s NME journalist. 

THIS SUPER RARE ITEM is a white label promo (test pressing perhaps) of the first vinyl record of confrontational performance poet Steven 'Jesse' Bernstein. The Prison album was released in 1992, the year after Bernstein's suicide, after the artist had been lauded on the Seattle music underground and grunge scene, not least by Kurt Cobain. Both the promo/test pressing and commercially released vinyl were pressed in Germany and carried two catalogue numbers: SP37/195 for Europe and SP101 for the U.S. The commercially released vinyl has sold for up to £175. This promo is supplied in its original plain white paper poly lined sleeve, die cut on one side only. 

Also included is the Sub Pop info sheet/PRESS RELEASE, which I've redacted in my photo to preserve its rarity for the buyer. The sleeve also has a Real Time Promotions sticker, which was the UK PR company for this release.

CONDITION: Near Mint SHINY VINYL, NO SIGNS OF USE OR HANDLING but may have been played carefully at time of release before being stored. (I don't grade plain or generic sleeves or additional items such as press releases, which are as seen in the photo(s)).

A NOTE ABOUT WHITE LABEL TEST PRESSINGS: Produced for the record label in very small quantities (sometimes as few as 10) to check that there are no faults in the mastering or pressing processes. Sometimes there are enough pressed for promo purposes (typically around 50-100).

Everything I list is on a similar coloured background so that you know they are my own photos. 

I am the first and only owner of everything I list unless stated otherwise.

PACKAGING: Your item will be sent mailing envelope designed for 12" records with an additional cardboard stiffener. 

POSTAGE: 

The postage & packing charge for this item is the same or less than what it costs for stamps, packaging, and a minimum of 13.5% of the p&p charge taken by eBay & Paypal (yes, they really do that!).
