First up is the rare Stevie Ray Vaughan A Legend In The Making the 2015 record store day double LP recorded live at the El Macombo july 20 1983 in Toronto Canada only 4400 of these were pressed on the Epic Label These recordings were perhaps the greatest live recordings ever put to vinyl by SRV and double trouble. listening to these LPs gives one the feeling of what it was like to hear this guitar master live. It has probably the best version of Texas Flood I ever heard .as well as Jimi Hendrix covers of Voodoo Child and Third Stone From The Sun. side 4 is the encore that is all instrumental , Lenny, Wham ,and Rude Mood . You really have to hear it to believe it .The 1985 re pressing of Stevie's 1st LP Texas Flood with Love Struck Baby ,the title track ,Testify , Dirty Pool and Lenny. Stevie's last studio LP In Step is a view of what could been in SRV's maturity with great tracks like the great rock and roll title If The House Is A Rockin, Crossfire , Tightrope a song about redemption from alchahol and drug abuse The Wall Of Denial ,and the greatest SRV track of all time about finding inner peace Riviera Paradise. The great story about this track the band closed all the lights in the studio with the exception equipment pilot lights and started the track the producer started the tape with only about 10 minutes left on the reel. As the song was reaching it's conclusion the band couldn't see the engineer giving the sign to finish it up But Stevie intuitively knew how to bring it home as they ran out of tape . It sounds apocryphal but a true story. The In step Pressing is a first issue first pressing . The rare Legend in The Making alone is worth the amount of the opening bid.
