Description

This auction is for both box sets issued by Stiff Records in 1979, containing the first 20 7" vinyl singles (in their original sleeves) issued by the iconic independent label.

I have owned these sets from new; on opening one of the boxes I found a clipping from one of the music papers of the time that handily lists all the tracks (see last photo).

"Suffice to Say" there are some absolute classic 45s here - five by Elvis Costello including Watching The Detectives, plus Ian Dury's Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll, some absolute corkers by the Damned including New Rose and Neat Neat Neat, One Chord Wonders by The Adverts, Richard Hell's Blank Generation, and the one that started it all - So It Goes by Nick Lowe.

Please note that the outer brown cardboard boxes have some signs of wear and tear but they are 40 years old! (only one of the boxes is pictured as an example but they are practically identical), but all 20 records and sleeves are in fantastic condition. I doubt some of them have ever been played, I probably bought the sets back in the day because I was a big fan of Elvis Costello (still am!).

UK bidders only please, I will not send these records overseas, thank you.
