A quite incredible single sourced collection of vintage 30 years old upwards modern Jazz and desirable classical pressings, all in unplayed and mainly factory sealed condition, in fact mainly double sealed, with the factory seal overbagged in a larger sealed poly outer. This whole collection has been in cool dry upright ideal storage for all its life until a few weeks ago, when I got first offer on them. An opportunity to bid on such a high quality never opened collection is a rare chance. Bid now to ensure more are offered. I could quite happily keep plenty of these!.
Sealed NEW Old Stock Another of the 50 odd unopened early 80s issues of classic modern jazz I am listing, this is Hard Drive on Bethlehem in mono.
The final recording by the second version of Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers features trumpeter Bill Hardman, tenor saxophonist Johnny Griffin, either Junior Mance or Sam Dockery on piano and bassist Spanky DeBrest along with leader/drummer Blakey performing four group originals, two Jimmy Heath compositions and the obscure "Late Spring." Although this was not the most famous edition of The Messengers, it set a standard that its successors would uphold to, training its members to be bandleaders in their own right. The music on this album is typical hard bop of the period, well played and full of enthusiasm and fire

This listed LP is one of Denon PCM (converter) mastered and cut records from Bethlehem original master tapes. PCM (or Pulse Code Modulation) method was adopted for computers, space communications, telephone system etc. because it can transmit a great deal of information accurately. In early 1970s Nippon Columbia Co. & Denon first developed the PCM method recording system, which is characterized by (1) wide dynamic (or dB) range, (2) low distortion, (3) no wow & flutter, (4) no crosstalk or no ghosts , (5) flat frequency response over wide range etc., and whose technology is applied to the mastering process of this record from the Bethlehem original master tape. Just listen with high quality reproducing sound equipment, a high end Mm or moving coil through a good phono stage and hear all that was on the master!.
The are no breaches of the seal to this and it will have an insert I believe. I have a number of these in my personal collection, and with high quality modern cartridges these are the business. Thick vinyl in lovely masterings.
