Hymnen" is a composition that integrates a wide variety of national anthems and transforms them e

lectronically. It is one of the most celebrated and influential electronic works by Stockhausen, the great

pioneer of electronic music. To those who know the work, it may not be completely surprising when one

The range of timbres, the imaginative integration of found and electronic sounds, and the massive

time-scale stand as an example of what can be achieved in this medium.
