Description
Excellent copy of this stellar jazz release by the Ronnie Ross Quintet featuring Ronnie Ross, Bert Courtley, Eddie Harvey, Pete Blanin and Andy White, issued in 1961.
Gorgeous performances as the band swing, strut and groove effortlessly – part of the golden era of British jazz.
It's actually a reissue of Ronnie Ross's Double Event album, put out two years earlier on Parlophone.
The flipback sleeve is in excellent shape, just a little tattiness to one top corner where the flipback has started to peel. No other issues at all.
The heavyweight vinyl has marks and hairlines as you'd expect for a 61-year-old record but it plays through very nicely with minimal surface noise – just the odd soft tic here and there. I'd conservatively grade it VG+ but the audio is excellent for the most part.
Decent red and gold labels with no writing, major wear or damage – certainly excellent.
Plain white inner sleeve from the era in VG+ order. Still some copies of this around but few in such good condition.
