Description
This great record is a recent purchase from a leftover 1930's dealer's stock.
Dave Nelson was Joe "King" Oliver's nephew (or perhaps Oliver's wife's nephew), but in any case, he took over the Band when Oliver's health failed, and thus the name, Dave Nelson and The King's Men.
They play "I Ain't Got Nobody" and a hot rendition of "When Day Is Done" on scroll label Victor 22639.
Nelson sings a vocal refrain on both sides.
Both sides were recorded in New York City on January 14, 1931.
The record is in delightful excellent-plus (E+) condition, and is in the original Victor sleeve.
