Description

I have just acquired a substantial group of Store-Stock Viva-Tonal

Columbias by Ruth Etting and Lee Morse. They are in stunning

condition, and of course, play like a dream!

I will be listing these (in no particular order) on ebay over the next

several weeks.


Lee Morse & Her Blue Grass Boys do an unusual rendition of Cole

Porter's "Let's Do It" on 78rpm Viva-Tonal Columbia 1659-D.

I'm pretty sure that the Blue Grass Boys consisted of Hymie

Farberman cornet, Sam Lewis trombone, Sam Feinsmith sax, Bob

Downey piano, with John Cali on banjo and guitar.


On the reverse side Morse is accompanied by piano and guitar

(probably Downey and Cali) and she sings "If You Want The

Rainbow."


Recorded in New York City in late 1928, the record is in lovely

excellent-plus (E+) condition, and looks like it came right off the 1928

dealer's shelf!
