Description
On offer here is a real rarity, an impossible to find 7" single on the Airship records label of 'No More Marseilles' by Strike, b/w 'Hold Tight (Cold Flight)'.
Airship Records was a tiny label born out of the Airship recording studios in Bangor, which spawned only a very small number of releases, all of which are nearly impossible to find now. This is only the 2nd time (that I'm aware of) that a copy of this Strike single has come up for sale on the open market, the first time being last year for a copy that wasn't in as good condition as the one I'm selling yet which reached a price of £230.00.
The copy on sale here has only ever been played once during it's lifetime, demonstrated by the solitary very faint spider line on each side's label and the superb condition in which the record remains. I wont ever describe a second hand record as 'mint', as some sellers do, so I will grade the vinyl as being in near mint (NM) condition. The labels are also in the same near mint condition, showing no wear or writing of any kind, and only a single and near invisible spider line on each side. The record is contained inside the outer black and white picture cover in an original, plain white die-cut inner. Hand etched matrix numbers are:
Side 1: AP-147-A1, with the letters 'EG' also etched into the run out groove.
Side 2: AP-147-B1, with the letters 'EG' also etched into the run out groove.
The cover has some very minor edge wear and light creasing to give away its age, so I will grade this as being in very good plus (VG+) condition to be on the conservative side. I describe honestly (some might consider it harshly) as I want buyers to be happy with what I'm selling, and I have taken a number of supersized images of the actual record for sale, so you can have a good look and see exactly what you're bidding on.
