Description
Before the gold records, MTV success and platinum albums, there was The Yellow And Black Attack. This six-song debut introduced Stryper’s unmistakable blend of soaring melodies, twin-guitar harmonies and unapologetic Christian metal, laying the foundation for one of the most successful hard rock bands of the 1980s.
This is an original 1984 U.S. first pressing on Enigma Records (E-1064), preserving the band’s original six-song EP configuration exactly as it was first released. First-edition copies are distinguished by the early rear jacket displaying Stryper’s original Cypress, California fan club address (P.O. Box 1045, Cypress, CA 90630).
First-press authenticity is further confirmed by the original Side A deadwax sequence: E 1064 A REI / Isaiah 53:5 / 12335-REI. The inclusion of the biblical reference Isaiah 53:5 etched directly into the runout is one of the most distinctive details found on these original Enigma pressings and a hallmark collectors look for when verifying an authentic first edition.
