Label:   BLUE NOTE.  Catalog number is BLP 1562.  Label is blue/white with blue text.  Monaural pressing on heavy vinyl, with deep groove on both sides. 

Label address is “BLUE NOTE RECORDS * 47 WEST 63rd * NEW YORK 23” on both sides.  No “R” symbol on labels.

“RVG” and Plastylite (ear) symbol are stamped in runout groove on both sides. 

Jacket address is BLUE NOTE RECORDS, 47 West 63rd St, New York 23”.

Condition: 

DISC:  Vinyl is VG++ with full original gloss.  Has been played a realtively small number of times and handled with care.  There are a few light hairline scuffs that produce a few occasional soft tics, but no distractions or enjoyment issues.  Fidelity is excellent.  Labels are clean.  A very nice playing copy.             

JACKET:  Jacket is nice VG+.   Front panel is clean with very light surface wear, and a bit of peeling of laminate along the opening edge.  Nice seams, spine and corners.  Reverse has a bit of darkening on the edges.  Not a cutout.  Overall a very presentable jacket to go with the superb disc.

“The 1957 Horace Silver Quintet (featuring trumpeter Art Farmer and tenor saxophonist Hank Mobley) is in top form on this date, particularly on "My One and Only Love" and their famous version of "Home Cookin'."  All of Silver's Blue Note quintet recordings are consistently superb and swinging and, although not essential, this is a very enjoyable set.”
