Sufjan Stevens - Silver & Gold - 6 LP vinyl box set.
This is perhaps the ultimate Sufjan collectible. So much love and time went into this, and the outcome is one of those rare things that is actually worth the massive price tag. It kills me to sell my copy, but at this point I must raise cash.
Please note this box is STONE MINT and UNPLAYED. There are no flaws. The only things separating this from a new copy is that the shrink has been removed. I have not played any of the LPs. I have not messed with the contents of the box other than to briefly view and photograph them.
The contents of the box are detailed in the photos. 6 LPs (each LP has its own inner photo/lyric sleeve that is not pictured). One LP is a double LP. I have photographed the back of the LPs as well (as shown). A 12X12 piece of reflective mylar (because why not?), a kit to make a paper star ornament (instructions included), an "adult" coloring book, sticker sheets, temporary tattoos, 2 booklets, song lyrics, liner notes, chord charts, essays, a fold out newspaper poster and an mp3 download card for every song in the box (unused). I'm surprised a snack wasn't included.
Free media mail shipping included for US residents. Please note I will ship to non-US customers, but the box is very heavy (over 6 lbs. packaged) and must go Priority Mail International, so shipping costs will be very steep.

Who can save us from the infidels of Christmas commodity? Look no further, tired shopper, for your hero arrives as the diligent songwriter Sufjan Stevens: Army of one, banjo in one hand, drum machine in the other, holed up in his room, surrounded by all the weaponry of Yuletide incantations.
This is one alternative Christmas package as served up by its wry-humored illustrations — rampaging Santas straight out "The Terminator," a chainsaw-wielding Frosty, the three wise street hustlers: Gold, Frank and Myr. A coloring book where an inked-up St. Nick and sugarplum fairies of a far less traditional sort cavort with serpents and unicorns. Naughty, maybe, but merry in its own dark witty way.
Sufjan Stevens mixes autobiography, religious fantasy, and regional history to create folk songs of grand proportions. This is his second Christmas-themed box set, after 2006's Songs for Christmas. What is it about Christmas music that agitates our heartstrings, Stevens asks. Is it this holiday, so fitfully exploited, adapted and confounded with no regard for decency? If so, the carol is its most corrupted currency — indelible melodies propagating a message of peace, love and venture capitalism.
Stevens' most recent full-length album is The Age of Adz, a collection of songs partly inspired by the outsider artist Royal Robertson. Born in Detroit and raised in the upper reaches of Northern Michigan, Sufjan attended Hope College, in Holland, Michigan, and the masters program for writers at the New School for Social Research.
