This is part of a big auction of Sun Records & Rockabilly 45's I'm running this week. Release: Jerry Lee Lewis - The Great Ball of Fire EP

Format: 45 rpm 7" EP

Year: 1957

Notes: This is a great piece.  It's a copy of the Great Ball of Fire EP in the original sleeve with the original mailer that took it from Sun Records to WYBC at Yale University.  The mailer is dated Oct 1957. The interesting thing here is that Sun in promoting Mean Woman Blues so aggressively.  The mailers are impossibly hard to find and really completes the package here.

Vinyl Condition: VG+, vinyl is in great shape with just a couple of tiny/faint scuffs. Nice original gloss, looks very clean. Both sides play very well with almost no background noise at all. No pops/ticks/skips, etc. Labels are clean as well.  I can't imagine this was played more than a few times.  Picture sleeve is very nice as well with some wrinkling at the top (likely from sliding in and out of mailer) and some discoloration of the white back. Mailer is very nice as well and has been opened pretty cleanly. Sun label is in nice shape and ink stampings are very clean.  It does have some misc bends, but nothing major at all.  A very unusual piece both in the completeness and the nice condition.
