I am relisting this item as it was previously sold to a buyer who stated that there were throughout all four sides occasional noise/playback audibles that was very noticeable on playback. I obtained the returned album and played throughout again to make sure I did not miss anything and determined there are only a handful of what I describe as an occasional micro-burst of a crackle/tic that are gentle, not obnoxious, and almost barely noticeable. There is some crackle here and there, not a completely quiet test press wax, which I suspect is 80% due to a need for a good ultrasonic cleaning and some of these factory related noise imperfections. The last track on side C had the most noticeable audibles, which was a distortion that became apparent the last 45 seconds of the song or so. Other than that, the record itself looks fantastic and plays nicely. Then again, sometimes these raw test pressings have imperfections, which is cleared up on the ones released in mass production. Sometimes, in a weird way, that organic noise is super cool to a collector like me!
This is the real deal one here for Sun Kil Moon fans. SUPER RARE Test Press and a MUST have for Mark Kozelek fans. This is one I was going to keep, but I know there are bigger Sun Kil Moon fans than me and I want them to own this rarity. Not many of these have surfaced in the open market. Wax is beautiful, there are these discolored streaks that appear to be factory related, but DNAP and the record plays overall AWESOME.
