Herald LP-1012 Lightnin' Hopkins "Lightnin' and the Blues" Condition is VG+. this lp has some light scuffs and some fine sleeve scratches. Won't pass your light bulb test but music is intoxicating. Cover has 1/2" tiny split on top seam. Ex. otherwise. Herald was a small outfit and did not use the highest quality vinyl, which resulted in inherent low amount of noise as the stylus skims thru the lp. This "needle noise" however does not affect the unbelievable dynamic range and vibrancy of this recording. A super rare recording and an amazing listen. I have many Lightning Hopkins records in MY collection, but all the stars aligned for Lightnin' on this recording. Electric, acoustic guitars, drumming and vocals are amazing. If there was one record I would love to keep from this consignment, it would be this one. I use no noise reduction when play grading. My big system has no noise reduction, but my smaller system does. H.H.Scott 299B, Thorens 124/SME 3012, ClearAudio Virtuoso. Sometimes turning down the treble a notch or two will eliminate just enough surface noise and still not affect the vibrancy of the recording. If you are looking for a Near Mint lp that I have graded VG+, please don't bid. We will pay for the insurance on this lp. We ship immediately upon receiving payment.
