Description

This is a true rarity: the 1975 original – and only – pressing of Freddy Cole’s “Christmas Dreams” on Arrikka AS-007. The playing surface is in near-new condition, with a high luster; perhaps played once. The cover is bright and clean throughout; ¼” split on the top seam, at the opening. It would seem that this was a vanity record for Ray Parker, who produced the session and wrote all the music and lyrics. This is an early recording for Cole, before he became the famed successor to his brother’s career. The record is undocumented: it is not listed in any discography or Wikipedia, nor on Freddy Cole’s website, which purports to show all of his recordings. Personnel are unknown. WE DO NOT ACCEPT PAYPAL. Please do not bid unless you are comfortable providing credit card information directly. The “Blue Note Records” book – “A Guide for Identifying Original Pressings” is now available on eBay.
