Supertramp Crime of the Century Still Sealed Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs MFSL 1-005.

This album was purchased about 30 years ago and is in the same Still Sealed condition as when I bought it. This is a Limited Edition LP Album, and the record itself should be in new condition because it has never been opened.

Please examine the photos carefully for exact condition. Understand that it is difficult to take "studio quality" photos due to the outer plastic reflections, but I have tried my best. I can see no seam separations, tears or holes in the original plastic covering of any kind.  The plastic does show what I would describe as slight "rub marks" and may be a little dusty/dirty due to age and storage, but nothing that shows abuse or takes away from the Still Sealed beauty. The bottom line is that the plastic covering is not "Perfect", but is in great condition.

Though difficult to see minute detail through the outer plastic, the Album Jacket appears to be in beautiful condition. Please note that almost any LP, even those brand new in the stores today, may have slight corner bends, slight edge wear, and minor color fading or discoloration. I have described and photographed any truly noticeable defect, but it is impossible to see/describe the tiniest of discrepancies that could be visible upon removal from the plastic or to an absolute perfectionist. Please be reasonable. Again, this album is over 30 years old!

If you need a "Perfect" album (which I have never seen) then please do not bid. I believe you will find it hard to find a better overall example. I have sold on ebay for over 10 years with overwhelming positive feedback. If you are a normal buyer you will be very happy!

I have an opened copy of this album and can honestly say that on an audiophile system it will make you smile. MFSL half-speeds are an incredible way to experience an album.

Crime of the Century is the third album by English rock band Supertramp, released in 1974. Crime of the Centurywas their commercial breakthrough on both sides of the Atlantic, aided by the UK hit "Dreamer" and the U.S. hit "Bloody Well Right". It was a UK Top 10 album and a U.S. Top 40 album, eventually being certified Gold in the U.S. in 1977 after the release of Even in the Quietest Moments.... The album was Supertramp's first to feature drummerBob Siebenberg (at the time credited as Bob C. Benberg), woodwinds player John Anthony Helliwell, bassistDougie Thomson, and co-producer Ken Scott.

The album's dedication reads "To Sam", which is a nickname for Stanley August Miesegaes, the Dutch millionaire who supported the band financially from 1969–72

The punishment befits the crime, and a quarter of a century later, Supertramp have been forgiven by critics. Quite why they induced such negative press seems unjustified, as 'Bloody Well Right' and 'Dreamer' sound as fresh as ever. The electric piano cuts through the speakers like a knife through butter, the treble at times hurting the ear like a heavy rock guitar solo. Both Hodgson's and Davies' voices sound rich and confident, although both are quite different. Maybe the pace slackens with the slightly indulgent 'If Everyone Was Listening' and the title track, but there are enough musical highlights to recommend this for any would-be '90s wants list.
