Up for auction is the deluxe 7” vinyl box-set compiling all Swell Maps' singles, very limited and now out of print....
Before recording their seminal first LP, the SWELL MAPS released four singles that are among the most sought-after collector items for punk & post punk fans. With Nikki Sudden's reckless out-of-tune amazing singing and brother Epic Soundtracks' on drums and piano, plus a UNIQUE guitar ferocious assault, they made an indelible impression in UK's post-punk scene and in fans around the world such as Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore, who claims that 'Let's Build A Car' "still to this day gives me a soul scorched buzz'n'rush. As soon as Nikki Sudden's guitar comes slicing slabbing and all out fuzzifying off that crackling vinyl groove you know yr gonna rock. The Swell Maps had a lot to do with my upbringing". They had the lyrics, they had the style, the sound and the attitude. So what failed? Not a single thing. Get this singles now presented in an elegant box set including a NEVER RELEASED extra 5TH single * which lives up to any expectations. Also included on the set a rare poster reproduction.

The reissued singles are:

But the real treat here is the bonus previously unreleased 1979 single:

• "Secret Island" b/w "Sheep Dip" & "Texas"

Many of these B-sides are really unavailable anywhere else (except maybe on some poor quality compilations)...you get 10 amazing sides of some of the best avande-gart art rock one's ears can handle. Both catchy punk rhythms, with abstract lyrics, and long droning experimental noise pieces, it all makes for a really unique sound.

Box, Sleeves and Vinyl are all NM.
